Networking & Wi-Fi in Lake Naomi
Lake properties are hard on networks: long distances between buildings, stone and log construction that eats signal, and internet service that ranges from fiber to a single bar of LTE. Coverage here is a design problem, not a matter of buying a bigger router.
Lakefront and club communities
The recurring problem in these homes is that coverage stops at the back wall. The deck is marginal and the dock has nothing, which is a problem when the dock is where everyone spends the afternoon. The fix is a buried run to an outdoor-rated access point near the water, not another repeater inside the house — repeaters halve throughput and do nothing about the distance.
Local conditions
What this looks like in Lake Naomi.
The housing here
Heavy on cedar, stone, and cathedral ceilings, with the good glass pointed at the water. Those are hard rooms for sound and hard walls to fish, so we plan runs before anyone opens a ceiling.
Connectivity
Coverage inside the house is usually fine and coverage at the dock usually is not. Getting a reliable signal to the water almost always means a buried run to an outdoor access point rather than another repeater.
Why owners here buy it
The dock and the deck are the point of owning here. Most of what we install at Lake Naomi is aimed outward — audio down to the water, lighting on the path, and shades on the glass that makes the view worth having.
