Sonos

Sonos has the best app in the category and it keeps working for a decade, which is why it is what we put in most houses. The part people underestimate is installation: a Sonos system that a professional laid out — amplifiers racked in a closet, speakers flush in the ceiling and painted to disappear, volume tuned per zone — is a different product from a shelf full of boxes.

Our Sonos work

What we actually do with it.

  • Sonos Amp and Port racks built and labeled in a closet or utility room
  • Sonos Architectural by Sonance in-ceiling, in-wall, and outdoor speakers
  • Deck, dock, patio, and fire pit zones on the same app as the kitchen
  • Per-zone volume tuning so one setting is not deafening in a small room
  • Home theater with Arc, Sub, and surrounds properly placed
  • Integration with Lutron lighting and control systems

Sonos ranges we specify.

Sonos Amp

Drives in-ceiling and outdoor speakers. The backbone of most whole-home systems we build.

Architectural by Sonance

In-ceiling, in-wall, and outdoor speakers tuned specifically for Sonos amplification.

Arc & Beam

Soundbars for great rooms where in-wall is not practical. Expands to surrounds and a sub.

Portable and shelf speakers for rooms that never got wired.

Sonos Port

Brings a turntable, a receiver, or an existing amplifier onto the Sonos system.

Questions

Sonos questions

Something not covered here? Call (267) 719-3598 and ask.

Why pay for installation when I can buy Sonos anywhere?

Because the speakers, the wiring, and the placement are the parts that determine how it sounds — and those are the parts you cannot buy in a box. Running wire to a dock, cutting in ceiling speakers, and racking amplifiers is the job. The Sonos units themselves are the easy part.

Can Sonos go outdoors and stay out all winter?

The Sonos Architectural outdoor line is built for it, and we leave them out year-round. What fails is indoor speakers put on a covered porch, which we see constantly.

Can I keep my existing speakers?

Usually yes. A Sonos Amp will drive good passive in-ceiling speakers you already own, and a Port brings an existing amplifier or turntable onto the system. We would rather reuse decent speakers than sell you new ones.
