Control4 in Canadensis
Second homes get orphaned more than primary homes do. The system was installed at build, used six weekends a year, and quietly fell out of date while nobody was watching. We pick those up regularly — often the fix is a controller and an afternoon, not a rip-and-replace.
Rural and remote properties
On a remote property the priority is that the system keeps working without a connection, and that we can reach it when something goes wrong. We make sure the processor runs locally, set up remote access over whatever link the property has, and add cellular failover where the internet is unreliable enough that a service call would otherwise mean a long drive.
Local conditions
What this looks like in Canadensis.
The housing here
Substantial older homes on large lots, plus a scattering of newer builds. Stone and heavy timber construction is common and it is unfriendly to wireless signal.
Connectivity
Variable and generally worse than the numbers suggest, because heavy tree cover and stone walls degrade whatever arrives at the property.
Why owners here buy it
A mix of year-round and seasonal owners. Networking and coverage first, then lighting and audio once there is something reliable to build on.

Questions
Control4 questions from Canadensis homeowners
Something not covered here? Call (267) 719-3598 and ask.
Do you install control4 in Canadensis?
Yes. Canadensis is part of our regular service area and we work throughout Monroe County, including Canadensis, Cresco, Mountainhome. We are based in Pocono Pines, so this is work we do ourselves rather than subcontract.
My installer is gone. Can you take over my system?
Yes — that is a large share of our Control4 work. We can transfer the project into your name, get you a working account, and pick up support from there.
Are you an authorized Control4 dealer?
No. We are an independent integrator: we program, service, expand, and rescue existing Control4 systems, and we are straight with you when a system would be better served by a brand-new Lutron and Sonos build than by more money into aging hardware.
